| The Desire to Ski |
| Desire is defined as the
irresistible urge to do something, to achieve something. |
| When we are talking desire, we mean something
more meaningful than a craving for a Big Mac and fries (with Irn Bru), Kylie
Minogue or the return of Blake's Seven. |
| The need to ski was more basic for
the team : it was like an essential chemical in their make-up, it was an
essential part of their life force .... it had to be done. |
| Why? You could say it was
down to history or ancestry - all of the team had relatives from Carrbridge -
perhaps the need for that clear air and the freedom of skiing was in their
blood. Perhaps not.

Who
are these people?
| The team
members changed every year as work and family commitments intervened. It
included friends and children of friends, boyfriends, husbands, wives and
girlfriends but never pets or traffic wardens. They were any easy going bunch
but even they knew where to draw the line.
